By public transport

Don’t have a car to get around, or prefer to leave it behind while you’re on vacation?

Here are some ideas for discovering the Basin in a different way.

By Train

The train is a great way to get around the Sud Bassin, thanks to the TER Bordeaux Arcachon line. Our commune is fortunate to have 2 stations: Gujan-Mestras (main station) and La Hume.

Getting here is quick and easy: La Hume / Arcachon in 8 minutes on the TER with a Baïa ticket for €1 (€2 in summer), on sale at the Tourist Office.

From Bordeaux: around 60 daily round-trips by TER or TGV.

Journey time: between 40 and 45 minutes

From Paris: direct line Paris-Arcachon with the TGV INOUI

Journey time: less than 3 hours

By bus

By bus Baïa

Baïa is the transport network for the Sud Bassin, covering the towns of Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch, Gujan-Mestras and Le Teich. Numerous lines serve the resort and all the communes of the Sud Bassin, allowing access to tourist sites and beaches without a car.

A Transport à la Demande Nuit (TAD Nuit) service is available all year round, Monday to Sunday from 7pm to 11:30pm, and on Saturdays and every day in July and August from 7pm to 3am. On the communes of Arcachon, la Teste-de-Buch, Gujan-Mestras and Le Teich, from stop to stop, for a cost of €2.50 per journey.

Maritime shuttles

Cross the Bassin d’Arcachon with the TransBassin maritime shuttles: departures from Arcachon, La Hume (in summer), Cap Ferret and Andernos-Les-Bains.

In summer, travel from one end of Arcachon to the other by boat! The sea bus takes you from Arcachon’s Petit Port to the Moulleau jetty, via the Thiers jetty, for just €2 a ride!
