A little history ...

The Bassin d’Arcachon lagoon is a natural area formed by tides, wind and currents. It has long been used foroyster farming and fishing. Over the years, villages and seaside resorts have sprung up around the Basin.

Today, the lagoon is a protected area that plays an important role in nature conservation and remains a popular spot for leisure activities andwildlife observation.

It’s an ideal place for children to discover nature and learn to respect their environment. What’s more, it’s perfect for boat trips, offering a unique view of the Bassin and its landscapes.

The little boatmen's tour

First steps on a boat! With this activity, we offer children the chance to become real sailors for the duration of a trip on the water. A unique opportunity to discover the Bay of Arcachon.

Embark in Arcachon for a one-hour adventure toÎle aux oiseaux and its magnificent Cabanes Tchanquées! These traditional cabins, perched on stilts, are a true symbol of the Bay. Tide permitting, you may even catch a glimpse of the oyster beds, testimony to the importance ofoyster farming in this region.

On the way back, you’ll cruise along the beautiful Arcachonnais seafront, before returning to the port.
