Foreshore treasures at low tide

As you explore the mud, seagrass and sand, look out for periwinkles and crabs. Learn how to catch them and discover their essential role in this ecosystem.

But the challenge doesn’t stop there! For the more observant, you’ll need to spot mud worms, those discreet inhabitants that leave precious clues on the sand.

Discovering the little beasts

During this immersive animation, children are transformed into mini-explorers, ready to set off on a fascinating discovery of the world of little beasts!

With curiosity and enthusiasm, they embark on a veritable quest forobservation, where every nook and cranny may conceal a new creature to be discovered. Looking under leaves, spreading blades of grass, scanning the ground… Every gesture counts to spot these tiny inhabitants of nature.

Once found, it’s time for scientific exploration: capture them delicately, observe them with a magnifying glass, analyzetheir morphology, colors and behaviors… Who are they? Why are they essential to our ecosystem?

Children get to know and understand the role of these tiny creatures. An educational adventure, full of curiosity and wonder!

The littleLAND’ARTbonus At the end of the activity, children create an imaginary insect on a support, using natural elements they’ve collected.

  • How many classes can be accompanied by a guide?

    One guide can accompany a single class for the“Foreshore treasures at low tide” and“What time is the tide?

    The“A la découverte des p’tites bêtes” activity is designed for groups of 15 children maximum per guide.

  • At what age are activities accessible?

    All our activities are accessible from Cycle 2, i.e. from CP onwards (around 6 years old). They are adapted to this age group, with a fun,interactiveapproach that encourages discoveryandlearning while remaining accessible and captivating for the youngest.

  • What is the planned activity time?

    The“Foreshore treasures at low tide” and“What time is the tide?” activities last around 2 hours.
