Time for a weekend

Would you like to escape your daily routine and spend a weekend in Gujan-Mestras? To help you do just that, here are a few ideas of things to discover and do over a short period of time.

Visit the Maison de l'Huître

Start your holiday by discovering oyster farming with a visit to the Maison de l’Huître in Larros harbor. After this educational tour, you’ll know all about oysters! As you leave the museum, take a stroll along the Christ jetty, enjoying the authentic atmosphere of the place, and for oyster lovers, the oyster tasting huts await you to complete this oyster farming experience.

Eratopia

Afternoon fun in the Eratopia leisure zone, offering a wide range of activities for young and old! Head for one of the area’s theme parks or leisure activities to let off steam and have a good laugh. In the evening, continue your relaxation with a game of bowling or let yourself be seduced by the nocturnal experience offered by the casino.

The coastal path

On day 2, take your time and enjoy nature by walking the 7 kilometers (or part of it!) of the coastal path, which offers exceptional views over the Bay of Arcachon, while discovering Gujan-Mestras’ 7 different oyster ports. Don’t hesitate to stop off at one of the tasting huts along the way for a gourmet break.

La Plage de la Hume

Then it’s off to La Hume beach for some relaxation. At high tide, you can swim and bask in the sun, or build the most beautiful sand castles. At low tide, you can try your hand at fishing, admire the kite surfers or try your hand at kite flying…

And for those who are more into hiking and discovery than the beach, continue the adventure with enigma games: Tèrra Aventura, Robin’s Tracks, Gigasse 7 or Pépé Uistre. There’s something for all tastes and ages!

Or maybe you’ll have the chance to take a boat trip around the Ile aux oiseaux from La Hume, tides permitting!
